Thanksgiving

Nov 26

A time of gratitude and reflection, a time to cozy up inside with the ones you love– and share a meal + each other’s company. This year I was so excited to host my family for Thanksgiving. There is something so magical about the smell of turkey in the oven that morning when you wake up, the Macy’s day Thanksgiving parade on, and I loved not having to travel anywhere. When Joe would come in that morning from the barn, we would just be here. I wanted to bring texture, warmth, and beautiful fall colors to the table as that is clearly my love language:) It makes my heart happy and I love creating a beautiful environment for everyone to make memories in. I really love the way it all turned out. My mom and sister got a good laugh out of my text earlier that week asking what type of dishes they were bringing as I had plenty of white ceramic or wood dishes I could lend! 🙂 My sister with her smart remark replied “I’m bringing the mashed potatoes in a bright hot pink bowl, thanks” –knew I would never believe her:) It was a great excuse to do a deep clean of the house before winter and even though every store was out of fresh figs my chestnuts from the local grocery store did the trick! I loved Ariyl’s floral she created, she is a good friend, and such a talented designer. Her chocolate cosmos and lavender blooms were the perfect combination! Lots of light, a relaxed space, we loved welcoming everyone for Thanksgiving. We are so thankful for our health, and our family + friends!
